A-Rod Let Check Book Do The Talking In Recent Brawl posted on 03/13/2008
The Yankees and Devil Rays brawl involved a lot of small name players. But one big-name player has a connection to the Devil Rays too, Alex Rodriguez. He makes 3 million more dollars by himself than the whole Tampa Bay roster combined. It surprises me that there was a fight to start with. I expected A-Rod to write a few checks and keep the Rays players happy. I mean, he makes 27 million a year. A couple thousand bucks to every player would surely have shut them up. Its the least he could have done. The Yankees players are almost all 35 years old and the Rays are 22. It wasnt a fair fight to start with. The Yanks used their one young player, Shelley Duncan, to try and compete.....but Jonny Gomes decided to take matters into his own hands. He really had nothing to lose though. He is making 400,000 a year and is on a team that will be lucky to win 50 games. Oh well, that was the one win the Rays will have against the Bronx Bombers all year. They should enjoy it and maybe throw a few verbal threats in the Yankees way come regular season. You never know, A-Rod might open up the check book just to keep a little peace. That sounds like something he would do, right....right? ;)

Mike Cameron: Padres Fans DO NOT Miss You posted on 03/13/2008
Mike Cameron has requested permission to use banned substances in the 2008 season. He doesnt seem like the brightest player out there. He is currently suspended for the first 25 games of the season for breaking the substance abuse policy. Mike claims that he may be suffering from post-concussion sydrome from his collision in 2005, while he was still playing with the Mets. It has now been three years since his nasty run-in with Beltran and he just now is starting to have complications. I find this highly unlikely. Especially because he only had a "mild" concussion. How about you just be honest and admit that you need the roids to compete with the real athlete in Milwaukee, Tony Gwynn Jr. This kid should have been starting on the sub-par Brewers last year and will now have his chance to shine this year in Cameron's 25 game absence to start the year. Mike is simply looking to the future and coming to the reaization that he is not good enough to win the starting center field job for the Brewers unless he is pumped up on the juice. I mean, just look at this guys numbers in his two years with the Padres. Not once did he have a batting average above .270, nor did he live up to his power potential (maxing out at 22 HR's in 2006). Mike also had 30 more strike outs than he did base hits last year. PATHETIC!!! If this is what he does while he is on steriods than what should you expect from him without the roids. Definitely dont expect him to earn a spot ahead of the stud prospect Tony Gwynn Jr. Maybe he can get some playing time ahead of his equally over-rated counter part Bill Hall. As a long time Padres fan, all i have to say to Mike Cameron is......."Hasta La Vista"...... good luck in obtaining your perscription steroids because they are your only prayer at having another mediocre season.
